As parents we have many worries, fears and are anxious about our children and life in general. However the best thing we can do to be an effective parent is manage our own stress. ⁣🧡🧡

Our anxiety is seeping into our children. Children don't need us to be perfect but they need us to be 'non anxious 🌱presence'. Children mirror our feelings, we may not be aware we are projecting them but we are and our children are feeling it too. ⁣

We all know that we as mothers set the tone and atmosphere of the home. If we are angry, upset, exhausted and burnt out this will set the tone for our children. 🌈One family member can spread around anxiety until everyone is on edge. This is called 'secondhand stress' ⁣

Kids see what you feel even if you don't want them too. They then mirror those feelings. ⁣

Managing our own stress means being able to accept our own emotions and all aspects of our being. Unlearning and learning to put ourselves first. ⁣

Happy Friday Mama’s! It’s foodie Friday and we couldn’t resist sharing • @drcobislater ‘s Apple Cinnamon Overnight Oats ! 🧡 The perfect Friday prep meal for a wicked morning breakfast 🍳 !

• 1/3 cup Oats (quick oats work best)
• 1/3 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
• 1 1/2 tsps Chia Seeds
• 3/4 tsp Maple Syrup
• 1/4 tsp Cinnamon
• 1/16 tsp Nutmeg
• 1/8 tsp Vanilla Extract
• 2 Tbsps Water
• 1/4 Apple (cored and diced)
• 1/4 cup Walnuts (chopped)

1. Combine oats, almond milk, chia seeds, maple syrup, cinnamon, nutmeg, vanilla extract and water in a large glass container. Stir well to evenly mix. Cover and store in the fridge overnight.
2. Remove from fridge. Use single-serving size jars (250 mL or 500 mL in size) and place a few spoonfuls of the oat mixture in the bottom of each. Then add a layer of diced apple followed by a layer of chopped walnuts. Repeat until all ingredients are used up.
3. Store in the fridge up to 4 days or until ready to eat. Add an extra splash of almond milk and/or a drizzle of honey (optional).

Kid loving Healthy Creamsicles made with just 4 ingredients and done in 5 minutes (before freezing)! This creamsicle recipe is so quick, easy and delicious! AND PACKED WITH VITAMIN C FOR A HEALTHY TREAT. 🧡

The body needs vitamin C for various functions. Here are some of them:

• It helps the body produce collagen, L-carnitine, and some neurotransmitters.
• As an antioxidant, it helps remove unwanted substances known as reactive oxidative species • • (ROS) from the body.
• It helps the body absorb iron.
• It boosts the immune system.
• It enhances wound healing.

Recipe Below 👇🏼

Ingredients:
4 large oranges (Navel, Blue Jay or Cara Cara), peel removed
2 tsp vanilla paste or extract, divided
1 cup thick plain Greek Yogurt
1 tsp honey*, optional (do not use with children below the age of 1)
US Customary - Metric

Instructions:
Place oranges and 1 tsp of the vanilla into a blender. Blend on high speed until smooth.
In a small bowl whisk together yogurt, the remaining 1 tsp vanilla, and honey (if using).
Pour orange mixture into popsicle moulds, distributing evenly so that the moulds fill about a third of the way. Pour yogurt mixture on top of orange mixture to the popsicle mould fill line.
Using a chopstick or a butter knife, dip into each mould and mix slightly to push orange mixture up around the edges.
Cover popsicle mould and insert popsicle sticks. Freeze for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.

* if your child is below the age of 1 no sweetener is required. Skip or replace with maple syrup.

How many of you ladies lift heavy? I used to be into heavier lifting but haven’t done it in so long. I’ve been really focusing on lighter weights with longer reps.

If you have hit a plateau with your body or workouts, try something new! Why not try lifting heavier for a while with less reps? So many women fear lifting heavier weights in thinking they will “bulk up.” This is far from true. In fact, it will not only tighten and tone your body , it also helps burn more calories!

So, if you are that person lifting the same old 5lb dumbbells, pick up the 10’s. If you have been lifting 10’s, pick up the 15’s. 💪🏻

Challenge yourself to change yourself!

➡️For this workout of the day, I was challenging myself by using 30lb dumbbells. For me, at this time, this is “heavier” lifting.

Preform each exercise 4 sets of 8-10 reps. 🔥
