Celebrate the turning of the season at Kilby Historic Site! Witness an apple cider pressing demonstration on the 110-year-old apple press and browse the mini farmer’s market for delicious local foodstuffs while the kids make autumn-themed crafts. Sample yummy barbeque, grab a slice of orchard fresh apple pie and then line up to have a go at the Pinata!
Kensington Prairie’s 7th Annual Fall Fair

Pirate Weekend at the Cannery

Pirates (the friendly kind!) invade the Cannery once again, on September 16 & 17, from 12 to 4pm, in celebration of Talk Like a Pirate Day! The Shady Isle Pirates will set up a pirate encampment inside the historic cannery, with lots of games and swashbuckling fun for the entire family to enjoy! Southlands Country Fair

Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival

Bard on the Beach Shakespeare Festival’s 28th season runs from June 1 to September 23, 2017, in modern theatre tents in Vancouver’s waterfront Vanier Park. The stylish romantic comedy Much Ado About Nothing, directed by John Murphy (Measure For Measure, 2013), opens the season on the BMO Mainstage. It plays in repertory with a classic staging of The Winter’s Tale, a moving and magical drama directed by Dean Paul Gibson (A Midsummer Night’s Dream, 2014). On the Howard Family Stage, the thought-provoking classic, The Merchant of Venice, (director, Nigel Shawn Williams), alternates with a light-hearted romantic drama, The Two Gentlemen of Verona (director, Scott Bellis).
