Here comes the weekend! Now that the kiddos are back in school, it’s time to get out of the house and make the most of the weekend. Enjoy an apple festival, Kerrisdale Days, and the annual Wesbrook Village festival. There’s a massive used kids’ sporting equipment sale, a tree festival, and a salmon festival too. Spend a day at the Westham Island Herb Farm, or light up a lantern and celebrate the end of summer.

KidSport Massive Used Equipment Sale

7th Annual Wesbrook Village Festival

The bustling boulevards of Wesbrook Village will be alive with family-friendly activities during the community’s seventh annual community festival on Saturday, September 9. This special event promises fun for all ages: young families, students, and adults alike. Kids musician and star of the TV series Will’s Jams on CBC Kids Will Stroet, Vancouver’s favourite Dance Band (celebrating over 20 years of spreading the joy) Dr. Strangelove, and vintage vocal trio the Beauty Shop Dolls will take to the main stage with tunes and entertainment that will appeal to all. For the young at heart, the Wesbrook Village Festival also features a kids zone, complete with face-painting fun, craft tables, bouncy castles and a swing ride.

24th Annual Treefest

Enjoy this annual celebration of trees! Access the site via Lougheed Highway from either the Orchid Drive entrance or Colony Farm Rd/Holly Drive entrance. The Coho Festival features a famous Coho salmon barbecue, the Coho Garden, stewardship zone, kids park, main stage and the Squamish Nation Village. The day starts with a Coho Run, Coho Swim, pancake breakfast and much more. The Coho Kids Park is filled with fun activities for children of all ages. The theme is centred around education, art & culture and outdoor activities. The Squamish Nation will again be participating in the festival welcoming all to Swá?wi (Ambleside Park). The Squamish Nation Village display unique traditions and cultures including their interconnections and relationship to the salmon. There are also weaver and carver artisans on hand to demonstrate their craft.
