CBC/Radio-Canada Open House & Food Bank Day

Once again, the CBC Vancouver Broadcast Centre is opening its doors to the public for a day of fundraising and fun to support the thousands of citizens that rely on food banks in B.C. On Dec.1 join in for a special day of live programming, a chance to meet your favourite CBC personalities and a behind-the-scenes tour of our newsroom.
Hockey Night in Coquitlam

It’s time for a charity hockey game benefiting Access Youth Outreach Services. The Vancouver Canucks Alumni will face off against the Coquitlam Firefighters at Poirier Sports & Leisure Complex, 633 Poirier Street Coquitlam. Doors open at 5:30 pm, Puck drops at 7:00 pm. You can purchase tickets at Coquitlam Centre’s Guest Services Counter (level 1 by the Hudson’s Bay). Cash or major credit cards are accepted. Single tickets can be purchased for $10
Walk Richmond – South Arm Park

Discover this park up close with its beautiful trees and greenery and sports amenities that include soccer fields, baseball diamonds, basketball and tennis courts and an outdoor swimming pool. ArtStarts Explores: Patterns

There are patterns everywhere! Let’s find them (and make some of our own) together at this family-friendly workshop! ArtStarts Explores is a hands-on drop-in workshop series for creative and adventurous families held from 11am to 12pm every Saturday (except the last Saturday of each month, when we present ArtStarts on Saturdays events). Explore creativity with your family through hands-on investigations and discover a wide variety of materials and artistic mediums. These process-based explorations invite families to experiment together through observing, touching, drawing, moving, assembling and listening to ignite their creative learning. Ages 12 and under. Free Family Yoga

Join Life In Colour’s Angela Gooliaff Artist for a Family Colouring Day! All colouring supplies and materials will be provided and children of all ages are encouraged to participate. Drop in any time to visit with Angela and colour your own piece with artwork from the exhibition that you can take home. Museum Members: the first 20 museum members to arrive for this Family Colouring Day will receive a special gift from the artist! You can pick this up by showing your membership card to our admissions desk when you arrive.
Kanaka Creek Watershed Stewardship Centre Open House: Winter Wonders
Sunday, December 3rd, 1 pm – 4 pm, Kanaka Creek Regional Park, 11450 256 St, Maple Ridge
Take in displays and presentations. Tour the indoor and outdoor learning spaces including the Bell-Irving Hatchery, ‘Roof-to-Creek’ stormwater management system and wetlands. Meet at 11450 256 St, Maple Ridge.
