Bats of Burvilla

Bedford Channel Paddle

Celebrate Canada’s Parks Day with a paddle. Try your skills in a kayak or be part of a group in a 12-seat voyageur canoe. All equipment provided. Presented by Derby Reach/Brae Island Parks Association. Meet at 10 am in day-use parking lot by park entrance. Free and for all ages!

Honeybee Festival

The annual Honeybee Festival has become a classic, offering amazing and educational entertainment for everyone! If you love fun (and we have a feeling you do) you’d be crazy to miss the excitement! Sure, there will be face painting, concessions, and live musical entertainment like any of your other favourite community events – but, here at Honeybee Centre, we love to go that extra mile. There will be a honey extraction demo, bee beards, Zumba, and Urban Safari is also stopping by!

Family Summer Art Party
Saturday, July 15th, 11 am – 3 pm, Surrey Art Gallery, 13750 88 Avenue, Surrey
Drop in and get creative with clay, chalk, collage, and more! Join us for our first ever Family Summer Art Party! There will be artmaking activities and an interactive storytelling show that all explore the theme, “Maps, Making & Me!” Everyone is welcome—children must be with an adult. Please note this event happens on a Saturday.

ArtStarts Explores: String
Saturday, July 15th, 11 am – 12 pm, ArtStarts Gallery, 808 Richards Street, Vancouver
Get all tied up thinking, playing and making things with string. You’ll “knot” want to miss this workshop! ArtStarts Explores is a hands-on drop-in workshop series for creative and adventurous families held from 11 am to 12 pm every Saturday (except the last Saturday of each month, when we present ArtStarts on Saturdays events). Explore creativity with your family through hands-on investigations and discover a wide variety of materials and artistic mediums. These process-based explorations invite families to experiment together through observing, touching, drawing, moving, assembling and listening to ignite their creative learning. Ages 12 and under. Free! Donations welcome.
