It’s time for the weekend and there are tons of great things happening around Metro Vancouver for you and your family to enjoy! You can head to the carnival, experience art with your kids, or enjoy a spring craft fair. Saturday is Earth Day, so there are tons of great outdoor activities to take part in too — go on a birding walk, release salmon, or party for the planet at a fun all day party and concert in Surrey. Culture Babes
Friday, April 21st, 10 am – 11 am, Burnaby Art Gallery, 6344 Deer Lake Ave, Burnaby
On Friday, April 21st at 10 am, enjoy a tour of the Salish Weave exhibition at the Burnaby Art Gallery. After the 40ish minute tour, enjoy tea and cookies in the BAG’s Fireside Room. Make It
Friday, April 21st – Sunday, April 23rd, 10 am – 9 pm, PNE Forum, 100 N. Renfrew Street, Vancouver

Find over 200 exhibitors (Makies) selling gorgeous, handcrafted items made with love and intention. When you buy handmade, you support someone’s dream and it just feels good. Birding Walk at Redwood Park
Saturday, April 22nd, 9 am – 11 am, Redwood Park, 17900 – 20th Avenue, Surrey
Search for local birds in the arboretum, a collection of trees from all around the world! This guided walk is great for beginner to intermediate birders. Bring binoculars and a field guide if you have them. All ages, rain or shine.

11th Annual Hyde Creek Spring Open House & Salmon Release
Saturday, April 22nd, 10 am – 3 pm, Hyde Creek Education Centre & Hatchery, 3636 Coast Meridian Road, Port Coquitlam
Release salmon into Hyde Creek and send the fry on their journey to the ocean. The Education Centre & Hatchery will be busy with tours, exhibits, crafts and Dr. Fish as part of the day. A fund raising hot dog BBQ will be part of the event.

Party for the Planet
Saturday, April 22nd, 10 am – 7 pm, Surrey City Hall, 13450 104th Avenue, Surrey
Celebrate the beauty of our Country at Party for the Planet, BC’s largest Earth Day Celebration. Adopt-a-fish
Saturday, April 22nd, 11 am – 1 pm, Memorial Park, 1950 Marine Drive
The West Vancouver Streamkeepers Society is hosting their annual Adopt-a-Fish in Memorial Park. Pick up your Salmon Release Certificate at the West Vancouver Memorial Library, then head to Memorial Park to collect, and then release a salmon smolt into the wild.

Earth Day Celebration at Stanley Park
Saturday, April 22nd, 11 am – 3 pm, Stanley Park, Vancouver
Think globally while acting locally through the Earth Day celebration at Stanley Park! Join in for a day of hands-on ecology through restoration activities, conservation action, crafts and booths for the whole family, and a tour to visit our local heron colony. Learn about the various conservation initiatives of the Stanley Park Ecology Society and how our work is supporting wildlife. Festivities kick off at the roof deck of the Nature House! * No registration is required, but you are welcome to claim a ticket to receive notifications and reminders!

Kid’s Only Swap Meet
Sunday, April 23rd, 10 am – 1 pm, West Richmond Community Centre, 9180 No. 1 Rd, Richmond
On Sunday, April 23, 2017, from 10 am to 1 pm come check out the Kid’s Only Swap Meet. Find great deals on children’s toys, clothes, and equipment.
