We love a good book, even more so when it’s a book about Canada or from a Canadian author. To help celebrate Canada’s 150th anniversary, we’ve got 10 great Canadian kids books to giveaway, thanks to Indigo! This collection of books is the ultimate primer on Canada — we’ve got everything from a Robert Munsch classic to astronaut Chris Hadfield’s latest book. There are stories about hockey, a Toronto boys boarding school (where lots of mischief happens), and a sweet tale of a red-headed orphan. There are classic books updated with new and bright illustrations and brand new books that will be read and read again!

Montgomery, Shi-Shi-Etko by Nicola Campbell, The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch, The Darkest Dark by Chris Hadfield, and The Hockey Sweater by Roch Carrier. Eligible entrants are 18 years or older as of contest start date and must be residents of Canada. The winner will be contacted via the email address provided to Rafflecopter. Winner has 7 calendar days to respond to claim their prize. Should they not respond, they forfeit the prize and a new winner will be selected.

  2. My favorite Canadian author for kids’ books by far is Robert Munsch. I remember loving his books as a kid and my kids love the wacky stories and illustrations.

  3. As a little girl in Poland I read Anne of Green Gables (LM Montgomery)over and over again – still one of my favourites

  5. It’s tough to pick just one Canadian author since I read and loved so many when I was growing up! Kit Pearson, Lucy Maud Montgomery, Robert Munsch, Paulette Bourgeois… I can’t choose!

  6. My favourite Canadian author is Robert Munsch. I love his I Love You Forever.

  8. My favourite book since kindergarten is Mortimer by Robert Munsch. I won a copy of that book from a colouring contest for drawing and colouring a red circle on a piece of white paper!

  10. I recently read “Where I Belong” by Alan Doyle. He’s a singer/songwriter/author from Newfoundland. I really enjoyed his book. I really enjoyed reading books by Eric Walters, Carol Matas, Kenneth Oppel and Deborah Ellis when I was younger. Favourite picture books include the Paperbag Princess by Robert Munsch and many of Barbara Reid’s books. The work she puts into the “illustrations”. Wow!

  11. My favourite author is a children author Dayal Kaur Khlasa. She wrote a picture book called I want a dog.

  12. One of my favourite authors is L.M. Montgomery. Would love to get a copy of Chris Hadfield’s book for my son because he is a huge fan!
