Harrison Hot Springs is one of our favourite places to create summer memories with our kids. It’s a popular destination for Metro Vancouver families and it’s easy to see why – it’s only a 90-minute drive from Vancouver and features beautiful beaches, and rejuvenating hot springs. The very best thing about Harrison in the summer, though, is that has enough family-friendly activities to exhaust even the most energetic kiddos.
There’s great cycling — the area around Harrison is nice and flat, so even the youngest riders in your family will be able to participate. Enjoy the local trails, or head out on a Circle Farm Tour to pick up local cheese and meet some friendly farm animals. And make sure to try out a Quadracycle, a bicycle built for four. It’s a fun way to get around town.
You can also take a trek into the breathtaking countryside to track down a Sasquatch, or take a scenic hike around Hicks Lake. Pack lunch and stop at the south end of the lake for a picnic and a dip in the lake.
Looking for fun on the water? Rent seadoos, bumper boats, powerboats, or banana tube rides. While you’re out on the lake, toss out a line for a little fishing. Or head up to Rainbow Falls for a fun day trip to a beautiful waterfall, only accessible by boat.
For more fun on the water, check out Harrison’s floating waterpark – this giant floating inflatable waterpark is every kid’s (and inner child’s) summer dream. Slide down, climb up, bounce, jump, swing, and fly off of, on to, into, and around this amazing play place, situated in Harrison Lake.
Once you’ve tired everyone out, set up at the beach with a good book while the kids build epic sandcastles with moats.
Harrison Hot Springs has hotels, motels, B&B’s, campgrounds, and other accommodations to suit every budget, plus restaurants and cafes sure to please big (and little) people. Check out Tourism Harrison for great deals on summer accommodations.
