This summer let your kids dance their hearts out at a fun and challenging dance summer camp at THE HAPPENING – Vancouver’s newest and most innovative dance studio for kids!
At Beginner camps, students will work on basic dance technique, and the morning will be broken up by arts & crafts time, it’s a great way to introduce your kids to the wonderful world of dance. Plus, Bobs & LoLo are taking over the studio for one lucky group of 4-8 year olds during the 2018 summer camp season. Hapsters will sing, dance and play during Bobs & LoLo’s high-energy, interactive workshop. This special session is exclusive to The Happening and features live music, dance, storytelling, improv, laughter, silliness and more.
At Intermediate and Advanced summer camps, students will work on hip hop, contemporary, lyrical, jazz technique, tap, street jazz, and waacking technique all in a new and fun way. There will be a musical theatre component as well, focusing on the development of a character and utilizing exercises to strengthen that character within a performance. There will be a chance for the students to work with guest instructors during the camp. This week is really about diving deep, working hard, and exploring new things about yourself and others!

About THE HAPPENING: Directed by Kimberly Stevenson, THE HAPPENING is a new dance studio in Vancouver that fosters excellence in dance education. At THE HAPPENING they envision young people as creative individuals capable of beautiful communication through movement. Their mission is to invest in children and young adults as people first, and dancers second. They encourage young people to develop the technical skills that underlie articulate physical communication, and expect excellence while nurturing each individual’s joy in movement. They value balance between the demand for excellence and achievable expectations, ongoing personal learning and expansion of artistic boundaries, as well as personal expression through the movement of every unique body.
