5th Annual High Street Tree Lighting Ceremony

Our annual Holiday Show is back! To get you into the holiday spirit, we have a 40-piece marching band and a 65ft Christmas Tree that might be one of the tallest in all of Canada! Together with the City of Chilliwack, the three Rotary clubs in Chilliwack will once again be welcoming Santa Claus back to town for the Rotary Christmas Parade. Lights at Lafarge Opening Night

Join in the magic of the opening night of the Lower Mainland’s largest free outdoor lights display. Expect stunning light displays, live entertainment and activities for the whole family. The lights remain on until Jan. 21, 2018 so visitors will have plenty of opportunity to walk around Lafarge Lake and enjoy the multiple themed zones.
A Lantern Affair: Our Family Day for the Holidays

Canadian Pacific Holiday Train

Embracing the spirit of the season, Canadian Pacific Holiday Train has made its way across the county for years, collecting funds and food donations to local food banks. Join the tradition, check out the train with its wonderful lights and decorations, and enjoy live music from the boxcar stage. Bring a donation to the food bank and share the season with those in need. Next stops: Pitt Meadows (8:45 pm). Plus Port Moody (4:20 pm) and Port Coquitlam (6 pm) the following day.

Merry Fishmas at the FRDC

The Shipyards Christmas Festival

The Shipyards will be transformed into a winter wonderland, filled with the sound of music, carols and the inviting smell of free warm coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. Surrey Tree Lighting Festival

Juno award-winning singer-songwriter Ruth B. will headline the 2017 Surrey Tree Lighting Festival on November 25 at City Hall Plaza. An emerging Canadian star, Ruth B.’s track “Lost Boy” has amassed over 240,700,000 streams on Spotify, 670 million streams on YouTube and won her a 2017 Juno Award for “Breakthrough Artist of the Year”. The highlight of this spectacular family event will involve Mayor and Council joining Santa as they turn the switch to light the City’s official Christmas tree and kick off the holiday season in Surrey.

Lights of Hope

Join thousands of Vancouverites on Thursday, November 16th to experience the 2017 fireworks display at St. Paul’s Hospital in downtown Vancouver for St. Paul’s Foundation biggest fundraiser of the year. Guests can grab a snack at the on-site food trucks and sip on hot chocolate while listening to some of Vancouver’s best choirs at this family-friendly event for the Lights of Hope charity initiative. Be there by 6:30 pm to see the light display switch on for the first time in 2017 as fireworks light up the sky! For those that miss the big countdown, the display will be up until January 9th, 2017.
Candytown – A Yaletown Holiday Festival

Downtown Vancouver’s only free winter festival will transform Mainland Street into a winter wonderland. Lights and candy canes will adorn lamp poles and costumed characters will parade down the street. Holiday shoppers are invited to start their seasonal gift buying in Yaletown with local merchants as well as a specialty market carrying unique gifts and holiday treats. You’ll also find Mainland Street filled with local artisans, street performers, and live music.
Santa Claus Parade

TELUS presents the Vancouver Santa Claus Parade begins at noon on Sunday, December 3. The parade route begins in the West End and moves toward downtown on West Georgia Street, then turns down Howe Street at the Vancouver Art Gallery. As in previous years, two-hours of family entertainment will also be presented at Christmas Square prior to the parade.
