Are you looking to help your kids make the switch from playing computer games to creating them? In a fun and enriching environment, TechUpKids uses experiential learning to develop code and explore kid-friendly programming tools. Their summer camp programs guide kids from 6-13 years old through various programming languages and teaches them how to create their own games and other programs.
TechUpKids is a not-for-profit organization with the goal of inspiring kids to code. Their interactive and fun classes are taught through hands-on activities and discussion.
The classes taught at TechUpKids have been designed to expose children to concepts of problem-solving and programming, how instructions flow through a program, understanding the difference between efficient and inefficient code, the concept of testing and debugging programs and understanding the importance of a user interface. Everything your young computer whiz needs to expand their knowledge of coding and programming.
The TAs at TechUpKids are computer science students from high school and university carefully chosen through interviewing. TechUpKids Vancouver always looks for TAs who love coding and love to teach.
There are four weeks of fun summer camps to inspire and encourage your child in the wonderful world of coding. It’s all about hands-on activities, discussion, and fun for the kids to nurture their love for programming. Summer camps run on a weekly basis in the month of July. Check out all the great summer camp programs available here.
