Wondering what to do on the big night? Businesses and community centres are taking part in the Halloween fun with treats for little costumed visitors, and we’ve got these fun events listed below. We’ve also got loads of fun Halloween events listed all month long from pumpkin patches to scary trains and haunted houses to parties, swims and skates. For the latest ghoulish and spooktacular events, visit our Halloween Hub.

Halloween at Lonsdale Quay
Friday, October 31st, 11:30 am – 5 pm, Londsdale Quay Public Market, 123 Carrie Cates Court, North Vancouver
Come over for a Halloween story, and stay for a day of fun. There will be face painting, crafts, pumpkin decorating, and trick-or-treating. End the day with a slightly spooky Halloween movie: www.lonsdalequay.com

Halloween in Yaletown

Trick-or-Treat at Park Royal

Wesbrook Village Halloween
Friday, October 31st, 4 pm – 6 pm, Wesbrook Village, UBC, Vancouver, Cost: free
Trick-or-treat your way through the village, picking up treats from participating merchants. Be sure to wear a costume! Check the website for info about a colouring contest and other activities: discoverwesbrook.com

Halloween Party at The Old Barn

You’ll have a great time at the rec centre, with a slightly scary haunted house, and many fun Halloween activities. You can also join a trek around the Olympic Village to trick-or-treat at participating businesses. For ages up to 7 with an adult; please pre-register: vancouver.ca

Spooky Scavenger Hunt

Wear your costume and comfortable walking shoes, and bring a big loot bag. Come early–the first 500 kids will get a special surprise! Pick up your map, and stroll around downtown visiting participating shops (parents, there are many nice coffee shops to choose from.) Spooky music will play in the background while participating shops hand out treats to little ghouls and goblins (as well as princesses and superheroes). The Pirate House

An ordinary house for the rest of the year, this bungalow transforms itself into a pirate island for the night! Come and visit Boozabuzza Island where pirates have been hiding treasures. This event is a fundraiser for St. Stephen Children’s Centre in Uganda: www.piratehouse.ca

Halloween Street

Collect your treats in the warmth of the community centre. Visit the witch’s den for spooky crafts, and walk into the darkness for some screams … if you dare (recommended for ages 8 and up). There’s a not-very-scary room with a bouncy castle and other activities for the youngest ones as well. Step outside for the fireworks at around 9:15 pm: www.richmond.ca
