About Us
yoyobelly is for every mum-to-be who felt her life shift the moment she saw the plus sign on her home pregnancy test. And once the word’s out everyone from your mother-in-law, to the barrista to old ladies who feel up your belly on the street feel free to weigh in with their “interesting” advice. So we’re here to help make growing your baby and growing into motherhood less yoyo-like with weekly hits of helpful, hip info on the products, resources and services you really need delivered right to your inbox.
And yoyobelly’s for brand new mamas too, because while rumour has it that having a baby is the most natural thing in the world, few things are as momentous as stepping over the threshold with a brand new babe in arms that’s all yours to care for.
yoyobelly is a free weekly email newsletter and website and strength in numbers is our philosophy! We’re plugged into a wide community of health care providers, writers, product testers and reviewers so that we can bring you the very best resources to help keep mums on-the-grow in the know.
We share all the details on products, places and resources that we’ve tried and tested. We follow a strict editorial policy whereby we receive no payments for any of our editorial. However, it does take a pretty penny to keep things running around here, so we do offer lots of different advertising options. If you’ve got a product that’s perfect for pregnant or brand new mamas – or their tiny babes – and are interested in how yoyobelly can help you get the word out, email advertising [at] yoyobelly [dot] ca.
Have something you think is perfect for our editorial? We’d love to know about it! Find out how to get it into our hot little hands via our Contact Us page.
The creation of mother-of-two, author and web strategist, Annemarie Tempelman-Kluit, yoyomama came about when Annemarie couldn’t find the info and products she wanted locally. yoyobelly was born when she realized that there was a lot more information out there for mums than there was for mums-to-be. In 2008, after just over a year in business, yoyomama won the SavvyMom Mom Entrepreneur of the Year Award for the BC and Territories region. Annemarie’s articles have been published in local and national magazines, and she’s the author of Healthy Mum, Happy Baby: How To Feed Yourself When You’re Breastfeeding Your Baby, which was published by Random House in 2007.
