Welcome to yoyomama’s weekend guide! Your go-to list of family friendly fun things to do with kids in Vancouver and the Lower Mainland. It’s also easy to get these event listings in our handy new app, OnTheGoKids, which takes our weekend guide and makes it mobile!

Who says there’s nothing happening in January? It’s the Family Literacy Day weekend, and many libraries are hosting special programs or story times. Monster Jam Tour is bringing the big trucks to town, and Strawberry Shortcake is on stage with her friends. Vive les Voyageurs Winter Festival will introduce you to the French-Canadian culture in Fort Langley. Plus, there’s also magic, movies, cloud watching, and plant folklore. Don’t miss the Winter Wander in Vanier Park, and the chance to visit several family-friendly attractions in one day.

Street Food City II

The streets of Vancouver are home to a growing number of diverse food carts. This outdoor festival is your chance to sample their delicious dishes in one place! How to Talk to Children

Winter Wander at Vanier Park
