charity begins with kids

The wrapping paper covered shoe box is divided in half with a slot on each side. All year it has been receiving monthly deposits. Half of our kids’ (they’re five and eight years old) allowance is designated to charity. This weekend, following the last deposit for the year, we sat down to figure out where this year’s donations would go.

‘Tis the season where trying to stay warm becomes top priority — from the clothes we wear to the number of hot beverages we consume. So there’s nothing we love more than a roaring fire, woolen socks, and a huge mug of tea. And thanks to Tealish, we’ve just found a new favourite for our cup.

This is a great weekend to catch the sounds of the holiday season, with many concerts, operas for kiddos, and musical-themed events happening in T.O. There are also a few parades, fun animation workshops, a cat and kitten adopt-a-thon, close-up encounters with Santa, and science experiments going on – plenty of fun to get the whole family into the holiday spirit!
