Welcome to yoyomama’s weekend guide! Your go-to list of family friendly fun things to do with kids in Toronto and the GTA.

Variety is the name of the game for the events happening in and around T.O. this weekend: get dramatic at Second City; “Fall” into family fun at the ROM; visit High Park for some old-fashioned harvest festivities; kick off the fall fair season with only a short drive out of the city; and join a free, interactive class of musical fun with the kiddos.  Fall is fun in the city!

Toronto Breastfeeding Challenge & Walk
Saturday, October 1st, 9:30 am – 1 pm, East York Civic Centre, 850 Coxwell Avenue, Toronto

Culture Days, L’univers de Globik and Animation Workshop for Kids

Second City’ Training Centre’s Open House

Open Minds Across Canada Child & Youth Mental Health Symposium
Saturday, October 1st, 9:30 am – 1 pm, Hospital For Sick Children, in the Atrium, 170 Elizabeth Street, Toronto
In partnership with Healthy Minds Canada, SickKids is co-hosting this second annual event. Ten national universities/health institutions are participating in this same day symposium across the country. The aim of the day is to present mental health research to parents, family members, front-line mental/health service providers, educators, and individuals affected by mental illness. High Park Harvest Festival
Sunday, October 2nd, Noon – 4:30 pm, High Park Children’s Garden, High Park, Colbourne Lodge Drive, Toronto

Markham Fair is one of Canada’s oldest country fairs. Since 1844 the fair has been providing the community with a showcase for talent and products, and hosts upwards of 60,000 attendees. Culture Days

Kindermusik is a music and movement program unlike any other. Each program is specifically designed to further the development of your child in every way, through music. During Culture Days, this free Kindermusik class will showcase songs, dances, fingerplays, stories, instrument play, and information on the benefits of these activities. North Scarborough Green Festival

Come out for this free family green festival with eco displays from Toronto Zoo, the Toronto Chinese for Ecological Living, Live Green Toronto, TRCA, Rouge Park, and other “green” vendors. Learn about recycling, composting, energy conservation, and bees! Exchange old cell phones, batteries, eyeglasses and printer cartridges for a free yummy treat, and enjoy kid’s activities and a community garage sale.
