Toronto

There’s a good reason we’re big fans of the great kiddo shops and services we’ve discovered in T.O.: Every time we check back in with them, they have something new and exciting to offer families. Here’s what’s happening with some of your (and our) favourite kids’ places around the city:

Lil’ Bean N’ Green
The ever popular entertainer Tim Manchin is back at 11 am on Wednesdays, with his fun-filled music sessions for kids. Plus, parents and kids will love the wine & dine family dinner, which will be held on September 28th: www.lilbeanandgreen.com

Ella Minnow
Infant and Preschool storytime has started back up on Thursdays from 10 am – 10:30 am, and Ella Minnow is always entertaining for a drop-in visit with book-happy kiddos, who will be especially fond of the resident bunnies and the indoor access to the yummy Dufflet Pastries shop next door: www.ellaminnow.ca

Evymama
A long-time resident of Toronto’s Bloor West Junction neighbourhood, Evymama just opened their second shop on the Danforth, so the east-end mamas can easily get the fabulous nursing wear, and advice, Evymama is known for: www.evymama.ca

Wholeplay
These fun and helpful playgroup meets parenting workshops have now expanded beyond the original location in Toronto’s Roncesvalles neighbourhood. Parents and tots can also attend groups at the Lil’ Bean N’ Green café in T.O.’s Leslieville, and at the Granite Club in Leaside. And Wholeplay now offers individual parent consultation and support services; They definitely give a hoot about helping parents and kids: www.wholeplay.ca

Two Moms Baked Goods
This nut-free, full-service, kosher bakery in uptown T.O. continues to offer baking classes and workshops for wee ones (including birthday parties), and they’re now offering more adult classes, including pie making, fondant making, and cake decorating. We’re still reminiscing about the Chunky Monkey cupcake and to die for blondies…yum : www.twomomsbakedgoods.com

Sweets From The Earth
With an already impressive roster of vegan, nut- and gluten-free sweet treats, Sweets From The Earth is at it again, with new gluten-free biscotti, cookies and crispy rice squares, plus a soy nut butter cookie that apparently tastes just like a peanut butter cookie – all available by October/November. If you can’t wait until then, we’d highly recommend giving the current treats a try, especially the delish dairy-free carrot cake with ‘cream cheese’ icing : www.sweetsfromtheearth.com

Diaper-eez
With a store reno nearly complete, plus a new blog anc webstore (coming soon!), Bloor West Village’s Diaper-eez is going through a growth spurt. Always on the hunt for new and useful products for families, Diaper-eez recently started carrying First Foods Organics: ready-to-serve, 100% organic baby food, which you’re welcome to sample when you visit the store: www.diaper-eez.com

We’ve pounded the pavement and done our research but we’re sure there’s news we’ve missed (and we haven’t even covered new stores around town). Feel free to update us on our Facebook Page with news you think we need to know about so we can plan a follow up piece and keep our readers even more in the know!
