tea time

We must admit that while we turn to coffee in a tired pinch, tea is our tipple of choice. And obviously we’re not alone, as tea choices and accessories continue to abound. The newest additions to our tea chest include Libre’s on the go glass ‘n poly cup, and the delicious offerings from Dream Tea Boutique.

Caffeine kick aside, tea has a myriad of health benefits, and certain teas can be great choices for your tots as well.

Libre’s glass ‘n poly allows you to enjoy loose leaf tea on-the-go. Not only does loose leaf tea have a smaller eco-footprint than bagged tea, it’s also usually better quality and better value as well. With a glass interior, a more durable polycarbonate exterior, a stainless steel tea filter, and a BPA-polypropylene lid, it keeps your tea warm – or cold if iced – and allows you to brew on the go. We needed to refer to their handy “how to use” video to figure out, well, how to use it, and we found the cup works better for teas that don’t have a limited steeping time. And while we’d prefer the glass ‘n glass version, we think the glass ‘n poly is safer for our kid-filled, on-the-go life.

Dream Tea Boutique imports delicious, high-quality Forsman Tea from Finland. Their Anti-Stress Herb Tea, a seriously yummy combo of hibiscus, lemon grass, elderberries, rosehips and more, is the perfect tea to offset the stress parenting engenders. For that mid-afternoon slump, their chocolate tea gives a caffeine boost and satisfies cravings, and we love to share the decaffeinated Rooibus with our tots.

The kiddos can join in the tea party with Dream Tea’s BPA-free Duck Tea Infuser, which is a fun way to introduce them to the joys of tea…decaf, of course. Because while we certainly need some extra energy from time to time, our kids never seem to run out…
