Kids-Fest

Contest runs: March 15th to midnight (PST) March 21st.

The Kids’ Fest is coming up from May 30th to June 5th and this year they’re moving  to Granville Island and they need your help naming the new activity zone for preschoolers!  For the past 34 years the festival’s youngest guests have delighted in their own special play zone filled with imaginative and educational toys, so fire up your creative juices and let us know your ideas.  The winning entry gets not only bragging rights, but  four tickets to the wonderful preschool show Scenes From A Tree.

Embark on a Journey of Discovery with the 34th annual Vancouver International Children’s Festival at its new home on Granville Island.  Featuring acclaimed performances from Canada and around the world including Australia’s Circa with their hilarious hit show 46 Circus Acts in 45 Minutes; the kicks, stomps, claps and chants of Step Afrika! (USA); the wondrous light and movement spectacle Farfalle (Butterflies) from Italy; the heel kicking folk’n’roll from Québec’s Mauvais Sort; plus local favourites Marnie Grey and her Music with Marnie Band and Norman Foote and much, much more.

New this year, and created specifically for little ones aged two to six, Scenes from a Tree explores what it is to age, to grow up, to change and what these things mean to us when we are very, very young. Taking its inspiration from nature, Scenes from a Tree celebrates the changes that each new season brings. Using wool and needlework, the performers whimsically illustrate a magical wonderland of trees, leaves and flowers, all woven with poetic language. With memorable songs, colourful costumes and a meaningful message, this playful show is sure to delight the very young.

Tickets for all the festivities go on sale on  April 4th and you’ll find all the details at childrensfestival.ca

For your chance to win four tickets to Scenes from a Tree, just submit your suggestions for the new name for the activity zone for preschoolers.
