This is the perfect weekend to hit the city for some music and theatre fun! With everything from loveable Disney characters, to Salsa music, to an adventurous Gingerbread man, there’s no shortage of family entertainment. And for those who love nature, catch up with the birds at the Science Centre, or take to the great outdoors to learn all about our owl friends.
Disney Live: Mickey’s Rockin’ Road Show
Friday, January 14th – Sunday, January 16th, Rogers Centre, 1 Blue Jays Way, Toronto
In this kid-friendly musical, classic Disney characters Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Goofy go on a talent-scouting road trip. The show features on-stage antics and Disney tunes, as Mickey and his gang check out talented upcoming “acts,” like Cinderella, Tigger, Woody and Buzz Lightyear: www.disney.go.com
Gingerbread Guy
Saturday, January 15th – 11 am & 2 pm, Sunday, January 16th – 2 pm, Pia Bouman Theatre, 6 Noble Street, Toronto
Loosely based on the classic tale, this version of the story takes us on an adventure with a newly baked Gingerbread Guy as he runs from the people who want to eat him up. All he wants to do is find a life of his own and maybe start a singing career, but with a cast of zany characters who are all wanting a piece of him, he’ll need a lot of help to get the life he wants. Music & Truffles: Classical Music For Kids
