With a new baby comes many things: great love, sleepless nights, precious moments, and for many mums, the introduction of the oft dreaded nursing bra. But we have some good news for you and your unmentionables drawer. Not all bras are created equal, and a Nummies bra won’t leave you longing for your pre-baby lingerie.

Started in 2005 by Toronto mom to three and entrepreneur, Alison Kramer, Nummies merges style, function, and comfort, and has listened to what nursing mums need (and want) in a bra. Motivated by her own experience, Alison set out to create the perfect everyday bra for the modern mum, with clean lines and minimal cut so mums can wear the clothes they love and still breastfeed with ease. And anyone who has survived the newborn growth spurts with an unattractive or poorly designed nursing bra will appreciate the attention Nummies has paid not only to style, but also to comfort. This is especially key for those days when our nursing bra needs to take us from breakfast to bed, and back again (hey, we’ve all been there!).

With great styles to choose from, like the Fashion bra detailed with lace, or the classic T-Shirt bra, which is invisible under your fave top, there’s a bra for every mum and situation. Whether you’re on a 24-hour nursing marathon, or heading to the park for a playdate, Nummies has you covered. Our new mom tester, who tried out their Organic Everyday bra, found it super comfy — even for sleeping. She also loved that the bra held up well after multiple trips to the washer and dryer, and the mood-lifting purple color (who says bras need to be boring beige?). As for Alison, she loves hearing how happy moms are to have nursing bras that look and feel like the bras they loved before they were breastfeeding.

When choosing a nursing bra, Nummies suggests waiting until about 38 weeks and then being properly fit, going up a cup size to accommodate the extra post-baby enhancement.  Your girls will thank you.
