New Year’s Eve Skate
December 31st, 2:30 – 4:00pm & 4:30 pm – 6 pm, Karen Magnussen Community Recreation Centre, 2300 Kirkstone Road, North Vancouver

New Year’s Magical Family Celebration
Friday, December 31st, seatings: 3.30 pm – 5.30 pm & 6 pm – 8 pm, Rocky Mountain Flatbread, 1876 W 1st Avenue, Vancouver
If you’re hoping to attend this event we’d suggest calling to hold your spot soonest. There’ll be music and singing, balloon twisting and face painting, a magic show and Quebecois artist, Starchild will be on hand creating an atmosphere of joy, laughter and celebration. Polar Bear Swim
Saturday, January 1st, 2:30 pm, in front of the English Bay Bathhouse, Vancouver
This annual event dates back to 1920 when there were 10 swimmers. Compare that to the 2,128 hardy souls who plunged into the frigid depths of English Bay in 2000. Costumes and the Peter Pantages Memorial 100 yard swim race are the annual highlights of this swim: vancouver.ca

Christmas Tree Chipping for Charity
Sunday January 2nd, 10 am – 4 pm, lower east side parking lot, Kingsgate Mall, 370 East Broadway, Vancouver
The Mount Pleasant Business Association is holding their 2nd Annual Christmas Tree Chipping and Disposal by donation on the 2nd. Proceeds will go to the Mount Pleasant Elementary School to help them purchase classroom computers and Smartboards. If you’re not up for swimming on New Year’s Day how about a spot of skating or swimming. Bring a non-perishable food donation for the local food bank to participate for free: www.corp.delta.bc.ca

Polar Bear Swim
January 1st, festivities begin at Noon, swim at 1 pm, Boundary Bay Regional Park, Tsawwassen
