With Santa coming to town this weekend the city is quieter than usual, as everyone gets ready for all the excitement! If you’re not busy with holiday family gatherings, there are still a few fun things to enjoy in T.O. (find our list of ongoing holiday activities here). Kids will love watching their favourite Disney characters skate, jump and twirl on ice, and the annual Boxing Day Zoo walk is a real treat for both the animals and families alike. Disney On Ice: Minnie & Mickey’s Magical Journey
Saturday, December 25th  – Sunday, January 2nd, see website for showtimes, Rogers Centre, 1 Blue Jays Way, Toronto
Watch Mickey and Minnie glide through an icy wonderland of classic animated movies, including The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Peter Pan and Lilo and Stitch. Professional figure skates twirl and jump in this production that is part of the Walt Disney on Ice series: disney.go.com/disneyonice

35th Annual Christmas Treats Walk
Sunday, December 26th, 10 am at the front entrance, Toronto Zoo, 361A Old Finch Avenue, Scarborough
Make the trip for this annual tradition, where Zoo animals eagerly await their seasonal delights! After the walk, enjoy the strolling carolers and warm up with hot chocolate. Winter Skating Oval
Friday, December 24th (10 am – 5 pm) & Sunday, December 26th (10 am – 8 pm), The Shops at Don Mills, 1090 Don Mills Road, Toronto

The Light Before Christmas
December 4th – January 2nd, 1 pm, Ontario Science Centre, 770 Don Mills Road, Toronto
Produced in stop-motion animation, “The Light Before Christmas” is the delightful tale of young Katie and her brother Makean. After losing their way in a Christmas Eve blizzard, they are rescued by the Candleman, a wise old sage who invites them to his warm and cozy forest cottage.  He then sparks the kids’ imagination and reveals the joys of unselfishly giving to others with the classic story, “A Night Before Christmas”. Audiences will also enjoy a fun-filled tour of movie-making magic as artists show how they build life-like miniature sets and animators reveal how they bring their characters to life: www.ontariosciencecentre.ca

Nativity Pageant
