Every November 11th people around the world gather to commemorate, honour and remember those who made sacrifices during war times. Remembrance Day, the 11th day of the 11th month, marks the end of World War I, and reinforces hope for the peaceful world we want to pass on to future generations. There are many ceremonies throughout Metro Vancouver and other organizations are also honouring Remembrance Day. Oh and we love the fact that there’s an app for that, yes there’s a Canadian Remembrance Day iPhone App listing ceremonies near you and more. Unless otherwise noted all events take place on November 11th. Here’s a list of ways you can remember:

Mountain View Cemetery, 5455 Fraser Street

Just want to say a BIG thank you for posting about my local White Rock Remembrance day ceremonies. I have searched high and low (even on the RCL website) and found it very difficult to find.
It should have been MUCH easier to find on our normal media outlet websites (papers/community/TV) but unfortunately not…) so again THANK YOU for letting me know where I can pay my respect to my late father and the many, many brave Canadians that paid the ultimate price.
