Remember what it was like to go to the movies before kids? Back when you could get there (without time-consuming kid meltdowns) in time to grab a seat, enjoy a bucket of popcorn all to yourself and actually watch the entire movie beginning to end? Yeah, so do we.

Luckily, Movies For Mommies and Stars And Strollers understand that having a baby doesn’t mean giving up the grown-up fun of going to the movies.  And with the chillier weather coming our way, a movie matinee is a perfect activity that doesn’t require bundling the babe. Now these mommy movies offer more than just an outing to see a (gasp) current film. They also provide a place to connect mums seeking adult company and a little reprieve from the day-to-day routine of diapers and spit up.

Participating theatres host movies midday for the mom and baby crowd, with change tables, complimentary wipes and diapers, bottle warming, stroller parking, lowered volume, dimmed lights and no worries about crying babies being rocked in the aisles. Theatres run movies on different days of the week throughout the city, which means you could literally go to a movie nearly every day of the week if that’s your cup of tea. Recommended for kids from birth to 18 months, you can bring slightly older children if you feel it’s appropriate. Keep in mind, however, that while the environment is kid-friendly, the movies are for an adult audience.
