It’s a busy early fall weekend featuring some of our favourite events including the Southlands Country Fair, the Coho Fest and a day at the Westham Island Herb Farm. There are lots of other community festivals and open houses as well. Enjoy!

Block Party in Park Royal Village
Thursday, September 9th, 4 pm – 7 pm, The Village at Park Royal, West Vancouver
Park Royal’s celebrating community with live music from Noah Nine and a business show case. For kids there’ll be a children’s entertainer, face painting and a balloon artist: www.shopparkroyal.com

Green/Roof
Thursday, September 9th – Saturday, September 18th (no shows Monday Sept 13 or Tuesday Sept 14), Caroline’s Backyard, 2506 Charles Street, one block east of Nanaimo Street, Vancouver
This all ages Fringe Fest play is all about green thumbs, footprints, community and commuting. Plus they’ll be serving lemonade. We’ll be checking it out on opening night and writing a review in our yoyo diaries blog: www.vancouverfringe.com

The Cultch Community Square Dance
Friday, September 10th, 7 pm – 10 pm, The Cultch, 1895 Venables Street, Vancouver

Paddle for Kids for the BC Children’s Hospital

At this annual event the dragon boat community shows their support for the BC Children’s Hospital, raising money while having fun. Come out and cheer the paddlers on and there’ll be a play set up for kids: bcchf.ca
