the big deal

No matter how hard you try these days you simply can’t avoid the daily group buying deals. There’s Groupon and Grooster, LivingSocial and StealTheDeal. And while we love deals as much as the next mother (ie. a lot) we don’t actually want to sign up for every single deal site around just so we don’t miss out. Which is why we’ve restricted ourselves to dealradar.com.

We’ve heard of content aggregators before, but deal aggregators? What more could a busy mum want but a one-stop deal shop they can skim once a day to check out potential bargains? And they’re easy access too. You can either visit their site, sign up for their daily email, follow them on Twitter, check them out on Facebook or get their iPhone app. Whichever way you choose to keep the deals on your radar you’ll save time and space in your inbox, your tweet stream or your Facebook perambulations.

Our favourite way of keeping up on the deals is their daily email. Then we don’t have to remember to check their site. It’s too easy to miss their updates in our tweet stream and Facebook news feed and while their iPhone app feeds you your local daily deals, you do have to remember to check it. Since the whole point of Dealradar is saving you time we’d suggest you just pick your favourite way of keeping connected and stick with that.

Dealradar only launched in May but it’s already global. You can access deals across the States, the UK, Australia and, most importantly to us, six cities in Canada: Calgary, Halifax, Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Vancouver. And as they grow they’ll be adding more deal sites, hopefully including more family-focused ones.

All you have to do is keep an eye on the savings and choose your desired deal du jour. Which is the only hard part.
