smooth as a baby’s…

For mums it can be hard enough to find time to shower, let alone perform those showery sort of ablutions like shaving your legs (if that’s your thing). And during the summer it can feel more than a little obvious if you’ve forgotten, which is why we were intrigued to get our hands on eos ultra moisturizing shave cream, which can be used to shave either wet or dry.
bobs & lolo to gogo
Last month we launched yoyo radio on blip.fm and we promised you we’d be uploading new music each month so for August we’ve gone to Bobs & Lolo, who have risen to Beatles-like fame in our children’s eyes, and asked them for their summer playlist. It’s meant for mamas but it’s child-safe in terms of listening as well. Read on to see their selections or check them out live in our lastest selections or playlist on yoyo radio: blip.fm/yoyomamadotca

Clichés are often clichés because they’re true and one of the ones we’ve found truest is that clothes for little girls tend to be a lot cuter than clothes for little boys – though we have our eyes on a few fab new boy-focused brands we’ll be bringing you soon – and Green Bean Baby’s organic cotton dress and This Lil Piglet’s baby bonnets are cute clichés indeed. Put them together and they’d make a lovely combo packing a one two little girl punch.

We all go through transformations in our lives, but most of us don’t undergo a conversion from a curling rink to a swimming pool as the new Aquatic Centre at Hillcrest Park has just done as part of the first phase of the 2010 Winter Games community legacy. Opening on July 31st, at the same time as the Percy Norman Pool – which opened in 1960 – closed, we’ve already put it through its paces a few times. Strictly in the interests of research of course.

the big deal
No matter how hard you try these days you simply can’t avoid the daily group buying deals. There’s Groupon and Grooster, LivingSocial and StealTheDeal. And while we love deals as much as the next mother (ie. a lot) we don’t actually want to sign up for every single deal site around just so we don’t miss out. Which is why we’ve restricted ourselves to dealradar.com.
