two cute

Clichés are often clichés because they’re true and one of the ones we’ve found truest is that clothes for little girls tend to be a lot cuter than clothes for little boys – though we have our eyes on a few fab new boy-focused brands we’ll be bringing you soon – and Green Bean Baby’s organic cotton dress and This Lil Piglet’s baby bonnets are cute clichés indeed. Put them together and they’d make a lovely combo packing a one two little girl punch.

When we spotted Urban Baby Bonnets on Canadian boutique This Lil Piglet we were smitten. And when we had a chance to put them to the test our smittenness increased. These washable, fully reversible bonnets feature lovely combos of modern fabrics to protect your little one from the sun, wind and rain, which is good because you’ll want to pop it on your tot’s head year-round. Our tiny tester has a “delicate head size” so her mama appreciated that the hat fit wells, in part thanks to the strap, which has three different snaps to size it as needed. The bonnet style also works better for babes than a traditional sunhat. And rumour has it that the brim, which can be folded back, or unfolded, provides some discretion (if needed) while nursing.

Canada’s Green Bean Baby is known for their organic cotton bedding and bath products and they’ve recently added clothes to their line. We were particularly taken with their organic cotton dress for girls from 12 to 18 months. It’s perfect on its own for summer and you can layer it up when it gets cooler, plus it can be worn as a tunic as your little one gets bigger. Simple, soft, classic and pretty it stands up to repeated washings without shrinking or misshaping.

In both cases we wish these came in larger sizes as we don’t feel it’s fair to restrict this unbearable cuteness to the under two set.
