Last month we launched yoyo radio on blip.fm and we promised you we’d be uploading new music each month so for August we’ve gone to Bobs & Lolo, who have risen to Beatles-like fame in our children’s eyes, and asked them for their summer playlist. It’s meant for mamas but it’s child-safe in terms of listening as well. Read on to see their selections or check them out live in our lastest selections or playlist on yoyo radio: blip.fm/yoyomamadotca

Walking on Sunshine ~ Katrina and the Waves
We are living life to the fullest and enjoying every (well mostly every) minute of it! The tougher moments are just character building, right?

Everything is Moving So Fast ~ Great Lake Swimmers
Lyrically this song might be more about connections with others rather than life in general, but it reminds us to slow down and enjoy our amazing musical adventures. This tune has been in high rotation on our summer playlist!

Brown Eyed Girl ~ Van Morrison
1) First song we learned to play on the guitar way back when. 2) Because of this we sang it A LOT while growing up. 3) It’s timeless for any summer soundtrack!

Galileo ~ Indigo Girls
The Indigo Girls’ harmonies were hugely influential on our early singing projects…which many of our friends, family and the ‘open mic’ coffee houses we frequented in University can attest to!

Clocks ~ Coldplay
This song will always bring back memories of our first big rock show experience. We performed at the Pemberton Fest (kidzone) in 2008 and still tell people that we ‘sorta’ opened for Coldplay, The Tragically Hip, The Killers, Tom Petty, Jay-Z and more! :)

Raindrop Pop ~ Bobs & LoLo
Shameless self-promotion…. Why? Because nothing says ‘home’ like a good Westcoast rain shower and some puddle jumping!

Hard Sun ~ Eddie Vedder
Guaranteed to get us both singing…no matter how many hours we’ve been on the road in the van!

Wordly Matters ~ Carly Rae Jepsen
We love starting our road trips with Carly’s Tug of War album. This is one of our faves!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun ~ Cindy Lauper
We do!

New Shoes ~ Paolo Nutini
The title says it all don’t you think? Pedis would be nice too.
