easy listening

What’s summer without a soundtrack or that catchy song that has you be-bopping? We get twitchy if it’s too quiet so we’ve gone ahead and incorporated all the great music lists we’ve ran in the past to create yoyo radio on blip.fm.
Blip.fm allows you to become your own DJ and compile lists of your favourite tunes so we’ve taken the music we’re already compiled (except seasonal tunes which we’ll save for when they’re appropriate) and created a – if we do say so ourselves – fairly rocking little station. Look for us to be uploading new music each month. And our most recent addition – in this case our singin’ in the sun compilation – will always be a separate playlist for you to check out.
A bit of housekeeping – some songs are available when we originally blip them, but then not when you go online. It’s all about whose uploaded them and how. And some songs are louder than others. We’ve done our best to regulate that but we haven’t always been successful but we promise that when we’re ready to purchase our own spot on the FM dial it’ll be more slick and streamlined. But ‘till then hopefully this will do.
And some songs have accompanying videos, including some true classics from the ‘60s, ‘70s and ‘80s that you may want to check out when you have a moment. We even found a Carol Burnett Show version of the Jackson’s ABC which we’ll probably swap out for something a little shorter soon but in the meantime it’s worth a watch for the outfits alone.
So feel free to tune into to yoyo radio whenever you’re in the mood. You can just hit play and then let the music run – you’ll see we’ve grouped it in the original playlists we created so you can choose your poison (we’re partial to the ‘80s ourselves, as you may have noticed) – or use this as your try before you buy listening option. Blip links each song directly to iTunes and Amazon in case you fall in musical love.
Oh and while all these songs we’ve selected are safe for little ears, we can’t guarantee the entire albums they came from are ‘kid friendly’.
