the kinks
Filed Under Going Green, Stuff | July 23, 2010
Ever since we’ve had kids we’ve gotten a lot kinkier. We have persistent aches and pains in our necks and backs and we’re much stiffer in the mornings than we used to be. Sure some of that is due to age, but we suspect that all the carrying, bending, pushing and being hung on, tugged at and jumped on that parenting brings may be in large part to blame. So we decided to treat ourselves to some t spheres based on the logic that if we’re healthier, happier and more flexible our kids will be too.
Designed for anyone who’s on the go, t spheres combine two powerful senses – touch and smell – in one round package. They’re perfectly weighted organic rubber balls infused with different aromatherapy blends for different effects. Inner Beauty relies on rose geranium essential oil to lift your spirits and unleash your inner beauty; Perk Up spheres combine grapefruit and peppermint to improve your concentration and circulation; and Pep-Up-Mint tiny t spheres use peppermint oil to soothe tired feet, mouse-moving hands and overworked brains.
Each set of spheres comes packaged in an EVA-lined little bag – you’ll smell them before you see them – complete with instructions for use. The larger Inner Beauty and Perk Up spheres are perfect for hip, leg, back and shoulder relief while the tiny Pep-Up-Mint spheres are designed for headache and foot pain relief and reflexology.
We’ve found them soothing for self massage and even used them as worry balls and our intrigued tots now regularly demand and give gentle back massages. And though we’re not usually fans of strong smelling things, we love getting a whiff of these throughout day and we’re pretty sure the Pep-Up-Mint acts as a decongestant through smell alone.
And sure you can self massage but we’ve also found they’re an easy, stress-free way to add a little intimacy into your relationship if you need help accessing those hard to reach spots. Oh, and this is by no means scientific, but judicious application of the Pep-Up-Mint spheres before bed seems to have lessened our partner’s snoring. And that’s possibly even better than a kink-free back.
