we believe in magic

Our bathroom cabinet is full of lots of different jars, pots and tubes full of creams, balms and lotions for this, that and the other. So when we started using Mayan Magic Healing Balm we were surprised to find that this one little jar has a whole lot of uses.
BC-based LaVigne Organic Skincare makes a range of paraben, resin and lanolin-free skincare, much of it featuring Tepezcohuite which has long been used by the Mayans to combat skin lesions and more. In fact Tepezcohuite is also an analgesic, astringent, anti-bacterial, a fungicide and it even stimulates the generation of collagen and elastin and regenerates hair follicles.
And if all that didn’t seem a titch over the top, we were told that Mayan Magic helps combat, or heal, psoriasis, eczema, dry and cracked skin, rosacea, athlete’s food, burns, tattoo aftercare, diaper rash, blemishes and even hair loss. Well, we tried our best but we couldn’t come down with all the above symptoms – and how do you bring up testing a hair loss product on fellows with thinning hair in polite conversation? – but we did what we could.
Faced with a very painful (and embarrassing) sunburn we gave Mayan Magic a whirl. It immediately soothed our skin and the red faded fast without any peeling or itching. After that we tried it on our little one’s eczema and it reduced the redness and dry skin and stopped her from scratching. Then we were afflicted by a mild case of athlete’s food and Mayan Magic cleared it up after just a few applications. Our rather unscientific tests have also shown it to soothe bug bites and we’ve even started using it as our face cream. So it is a little big magic after all.
This little multi-tasker has cut down on our cabinet clutter and become our go-to cream. Plus it makes summer travels so much easier when you can bring along just one little jar to tackle so many different everyday ailments.
