now hear this

Did you know that hearing loss affects one in ten of Canadians and Noise Induced Hearing Loss – often caused by overexposure to noise – is permanent and on the rise? Noise pollution caused by everything from power tools to heavy traffic to household appliances is just as unhealthy as other kind of pollution. So how can you protect your little ones’ ears (and your own)?
Here’s a good way to start – ditch your kids’ loud toys. Toddlers in particular tend to hold noisy toys close to their ears for long periods of time, which can be hazardous to their hearing. We’ve used this as the perfect excuse to turf those toys that drive us crazy. Other hearing-saving tips include avoiding ear bud headphones and using headsets instead – especially for kids. You can also add earplugs for the whole family to the arsenal in your diaper bag and set a good example for your kids by wearing ear muffs when mowing the lawn, snow or leaf blowing (we know, not the right time of year, but still…) and using power tools.
And you can be parent kid safety matchy matchy with Banz Earmuffs for your kids paired with 3M’s AO Safety Professional Earmuffs for you.
Are you going to look cool while wearing them? Well, not exactly, but you’ll have the last (quiet) laugh when your ears aren’t ringing and you can still hear a pin drop. Both sets of earmuffs are well padded and comfy and adjust to fit different head sizes and the Banz earmuffs will grow with your babe. And most importantly they both do a great job at blocking out loud noise.
For kids we recommend using them during the fireworks, at concerts, air shows and sporting events and while they’re “helping” you mow the lawn.
Well that all sounds good.
