fresh delivery
Filed Under Going Green, Places | June 22, 2010
When we look in our cupboards and see they’re bare we’re faced with a different dilemma than Old Mother Hubbard. We have to decide whether or not to go grocery shopping with our kids. And if we do decide to go then it becomes a question of if we feel brave enough to tackle all the items on our list or if we’re going to rush though and just grab the bare necessities. So when we discovered Front Door Organics we decided to test, online, organic shopping to see if it offers a viable alternative to our current higgledy-piggledy modus operandi.
Front Door Organics has been serving Torontonians since it was launched by Angela Donnelly and G.G. Sheppard in1997. Front Door was developed to make everyone’s lives a little bit easier and healthier. They offer three different types of fresh boxes and also stock many healthy everyday basics.
Their variations of fresh boxes are designed with families in mind. Each delivery offers ten to fifteen different high-quality fruits and vegetables with local produce when it’s available. And from June to October you can also get Go Ontario fresh boxes full of local fruit and veg. We always opt for the custom fresh box as it allows us to make unlimited substitutions and we’re able to opt out of what our kiddos don’t like – brussel sprouts anyone?- and put in lots of what we all love, like yummy strawberries.
With option for weekly, or every second, third, or fourth week delivery to various neighborhoods throughout Toronto, we find we use Front Door Organics to supplement rather than replace our regular shopping jaunts but it definitely cuts down the amount of time we spending shopping and having to plan our orders ahead of time means we’re not caught without as often.
And because we don’t have to be home when our order arrives it frees us up for more enjoyable pastimes with our tots. Plus there’s nothing like coming home and discovering a well-stocked, health pantry on your door step. Now that’s fresh thinking.
