We like to feature safer lotions and potions for babes, but what about us? Our skin may no longer be soft as a baby’s bottom but that’s no reason not to treat it to products that are free from such things as Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Sodium Laureth, Sulfate, Diethanolamine, parabens, phthalates, artificial colours, dyes or synthetic fragrances. Like those from Consonant Body for example.
Canadian company Consonant Body believes that what goes on your body goes in your body and so they’ve created a line of products that’s healthier inside and out. They have a full line of face and body products and because of all the things that aren’t in them we use them on the whole family.
Everything in their new Citrus Bergamot line smells yummy and zesty but not too potent and the scent adds a bit of pep to our tired mornings. A stand out was their Organic Body Lotion which is incredibly rich and moisturizing and formulated to be anti-aging and anti-oxidant. We did find it takes a bit longer to absorb than our regular lotion so we tend to build in a bit of extra soak-in time on the days we use it.
And our lips are just a little bit in love with their Organic Lip Therapy, aka lip balm. It contains over 60% sweet almond oil and it’s got serious staying power though drinks, meals and more. In fact it last longer and moisturizes better than any other lip balm we’ve ever tried, and we’ve put our fair share to the dry lip test.
We like how completely transparent Consonant Body is about the ingredients in their products but we never take just take anyone’s word for it. Instead we always check the Environmental Working Group’s Skin Deep site and all of Consonant Body’s products receive low or the low end of moderate hazard rating from the EWG.
And we’re assuming their name refers to the lesser known definition of consonant as in “being in agreement or accord” as all their products are definitely in accord with their beliefs.
