Mother’s Day is fast approaching and if you’re about to become one we think you should be fêted too!  So we looked back and picked out some of our enduring faves for pregnant mamas, all of which would make great gifts this Sunday. They’re all Canadian-made and they may be oldies but they definitely are goodies – classics as it were. And classics never go out of style. Be sure to pick your fave and send this along with a strong hint to those who should be fêting you this mother’s day!

Glow Baby Journal
If feeling organized makes you happy you’ll want to get (or be given) one of these handy journals before your babe comes along. It allows you to track your newborn’s routines – such as they are -  and gives you the answers at your fingertips, rather than having to cast your mind back, when your caregiver wants to know how many dirty and wet diapers your baby is having in a day, or how much sleep they’re getting (or not).

Chloe Angus Button Wrap
You may be less of a fashionista these days and more of a maternityista (is there such a thing?) but that doesn’t mean you don’t like to feel as if you’re looking your best. Just pop one of these wraps on top of whatever else you’re wearing and you’ll look pulled together. The loose fit means you can wear it from your first trimester to your last and it’s great for breastfeeding too. Plus it’s easy on and off, which is a must during pregnancy when hormones can wreak havoc with your internal heating system.

Honeymilk Designs
Once your milk comes in you’ll be looking for the best support around and we can’t speak highly enough about these nursing bras, in part because they don’t look like nursing bras. Designed by mama, lactation consultant and second-generation bra fitter Brandee Anderson, she knows bras, breasts and babies and has accommodated them all with a nursing bra that lifts and separates rather than creating a squished up mono-boob. And the hooking and unhooking gives easy access to your milk.

And if none of these ideas quite hit the spot, well we’ve yet to meet a mama-to-be whose pregnancy wouldn’t be made just that much better by a pedicure or prenatal massage at her favourite spa.
