It may seem a rather an odd time of year to be talking popsicles, but these brand new, Stainless Steel Popsicle Molds from the Tickle Trunk are so great we couldn’t wait to share. You may already be familiar with the Tickle Trunk’s Stainless Steel Ice Cube Trays and Straws but we think their Popsicle Molds may be their best designed offering yet.

The mold really should be described as a popsicle “set”. You get six molds, a metal tray to hold them, wooden popsicle sticks, stainless steel discs and silicon rings to slip the popsicle sticks through to hold them in place. And because each mold slots into the tray individually it’s easy to make and refill as many popsicles as you need. The stainless steel discs act as lids when the popsicles are freezing and catch drips when they’re being eaten. Oh, and all the parts are dishwasher-safe.

We put ours to immediate use as kids don’t really seem to mind whether it’s popsicle appropriate weather or not. We found it easier to use and much sturdier than your typical plastic mold. The tray that holds the molds keeps everything on a spill-free, even keel in the freezer. And while the instructions said you can simply warm the mold in your hand to extract the popsicle bounty within, we found running it under hot water for a moment more effective.

It’s definitely time to resurrect this yummy popsicle recipe that became a staple last summer. And here’s a tip – keep homemade Pedialyte popsicles in the freezer for those tummy bugs that may leave your little one dehydrated.

And as long as you keep track on all the pieces, one of these sets will last you for life – or at least through your little one’s childhood. Plus this set will make you the target of eco-friendly envy in your neighbourhood all summer long.
