Did you know that March 2nd to 8th is International Women’s Week? And the Winter Farmers Market will be at the WISE Hall this Saturday. As all the Olympic festivities wrap up “regular” events are still a little sparse so do check our family-friendly fun Olympic guide for ideas and we’ve also updated it with a list of venues that will remain open after the 28th for you check out when the crowds have thinned and the line ups shortened (we hope).

Swallow Tail Supper Club – Little Chefs Night
Sunday, February 28th, 5 – 10 pm, Secret Location

Okay, we’ve tried but we can’t find much more about the Swallow Tail Supper Club except that they focus on wild BC ingredients and this Sunday’s event is kid-friendly (and kids are free). Green Glamour, a benefit for Sustainable Living
Thursday, February 25th, 7 pm – 11 pm, Jacana Art Gallery, 2435 Granville Street, Vancouver
Local eco-friendly businesses have joined forces to bring you an adult night of pampering, food, drinks and door prizes, all the benefit the Stanley Park Ecological Society. For just loonies and toonies you can get a manicure from She to Shic, an acupuncture facial by SKN, a massage from Footprints Healing Arts, your makeup done by Arbonne and finish it all off by being photographed by PhotoArt by Simpson. Firebelly

Firebelly will be chasing away the cold with this series of 20 minute dance performances combining fire performance, aerial acrobatics and stilt dancing. Kids’ Corner at Seedy Saturday

VanDusen isn’t letting the Olympics get in the way of tradition. It’s their much-anticipated Seedy Saturday, a celebration of heirloom varieties, organic gardening and urban agriculture that’s been held in their Floral Hall on the last Saturday in February for more than 20 years. ArtStarts on Saturdays: Drumming with Milton Randall

Kids from five to 12 are invited to this free event where they can feel the beat with African, Brazilian and other rhythm.
