Every year as things wind down we look back at your favourite articles from the past 12 months. But this year we’re going to do things a little differently and call on you, after all, you’re the experts.
Using a complex, Google-like algorithm, we’ve narrowed things down to the top three most popular articles in each category from Stuff to Tips & Tricks and now it’s up to you to crown your favourites. You’ve got your pick of everything from dishware to kids’ stores to recipes, so let us know which ones made your year easier.
The polls are open through December 15th and we’ll start announcing the winners on the 21st and throughout the rest of the holidays.
The categories you can vote on are Going Green, Multi-Tasking, Places, Stuff and Tips & Tricks, we’ve omitted Events because how on earth could you narrow down your favourite weekend guide? And left out Mamas Rock because it wasn’t that well populated this year, but look for that to change in 2010. Some of these articles may be listed in two categories so those have been listed in the category they most firmly fall under.
The Going Green theme seems to centre around food from our article on Thinkbaby’s very handy insulated feeding sets to the discovery of a true neighbourhood grocery store with the Home Grow In Grocer and the delicious, organic treats for tots from Little Tree Foods. If you need a refresher, just click on the links above and then cast your vote below:
In Multi-tasking the nominees are as broad as the name implies, everything from Wysi™ Wipes super-handy and environmentally-friendly wipes to SpringPad’s free, web-based organizer to keep you on track with everything from budgeting to grocery shopping and finally Go GaGa’s bags that carry everything from diapers to laptops to yoga mats. If you need a refresher, just click on the links above and then cast your vote below:
We know you’re always on the lookout for fun places to hang out with your tots and these three choices are fun indeed. First our Indoor Pools review, then the re-opening of Hip Baby and finally the grand opening of Collage Collage, a workshop, store and gallery. If you need a refresher just click on the links above and then cast your vote below:
Well there’s lots of variety here and this was the hardest category to narrow down but we’ve winnowed away everything but our review of cough and cold solutions featuring Sniffles from Dimpleskins Naturals, our listing of greener lunch box options we ran just in time for back to school and finally one of our fave discoveries of the year, Piggy Paint. If you need a refresher just click on the links above and then cast your vote below:
Did none of the above tickle your fancy? Have no fear, we’ve throwing one wild card into the mix. Just use the comment functionality below to nominate your favourite article, be sure to include the link and your whyfores and wherefores as well.

Love your website – more stuff to do indoors when it’s cold would be great! recipes! psychology!
By far I love and look forward to “what to do” on Thursdays to help me plan weekends. I love the info on products, but a nice balance of environmentally friendly, practical, and affordable would be appreciated… I love the products, but some I find a little crazy ($17 for a pair of mittens for a toddler… realistically, how long will they last before being lost?). Keep up the good work!

I agree – more recipes for quick family dinners. The “what to do” really is the best listing. Great job! Love all the ‘green’ ideas and product information.
This site is built for teachers, but is a great resource for families looking for outing ideas too. You can search for outings by city, interest (e.g. bugs), grade of child and it provides links to each organizations website for more details. A great way to find some less advertised ‘gems’ in our community.
Most definitely the “What to do” list of happening events has been most beneficial for our family. Though I do love seeing all the different products, esp. when inspired and created by Canadians, that are now available. New recipes..yeah!…ok, overall, I just love yoyomama!

Thanks and Happy New Year!
