Amongst all the hustle and bustle of the holidays, it’s also a time for appreciation and reflection. For us it’s been a big year as we’ve had lots of growth and juggling and possibly even a titch of sibling rivalry with the birth of yoyobelly.ca last February.

Who do we appreciate? You! Our smart, funny, inquiring and inspiring readers.

And what are we reflecting upon? Your favourite stories from the past year.  Thanks to all of you who took the time to vote and without further ado, here is your top pick for 2009 in tips & tricks.

By an overwhelming majority you chose our review of Lonely Planet’s Travel with Children as your favourite tip & trick of 2009. For us armchair travelers the first-person tales of travelling with tots in this book still incite feelings of awe and inspiration. Which is not to say all the handy info and advice dispensed within isn’t inspiring (and helpful) as well.

If you are travelling with your kids in Canada over the holidays we’re even more in awe of your bravery and wanted to let you know about Wee Travel. With locations in Toronto, Vancouver and Victoria they rent all the baby gear you’ll need, including car seats, folding cribs, strollers, high chairs, safety products and more. And they deliver, even to the airport. With brands you know and trust like Britax, Graco and Bumbo, it makes a lot of sense to rent rather than dragging all your gear with you. Not that travelling with kids ever means travelling light, but at least you can travel lighter.

We look forward to bringing you more great tips & tricks in the New Year. Till then, happy holidays and all the best for a healthy, fun 2010!

The Wee Travel seems like a wonderful service. I had some friends recently travel to Vancouver for the olympics. It was to be a short trip so they were able to get the grandparents to baby sit their new baby. Had they known this was an option I’m sure they would have considered taking the little one. I will let them known about this company and hopefully they can try them out on their next trip to Canada.
