The city’s taking a bit of a breather between Halloween and upcoming holiday festivities, but there’s still fun to be had, including spirit-building Pulse to the Podium events, the Children’s Trunk Show and lots more families festivities.
Lavignia: A Modern Fairy Tale of Gigantic Proportions

Is Peaceful Parenting a Pipedream? Free Event
Monday, November 9th, 6 pm – 7:30 pm, North Shore Winter Club,1352 East Keith Road, North Vancouver
Learn from Lynn Sumida, MSW whether or not it’s possible to parent peacefully and if power struggles are inevitable and get handy tools for encouraging cooperation from your child. German-style Lantern Festival
Friday, November 6th, 6:30 pm, Alpenclub, 4875 Victoria Drive, Vancouver
Based on the life of St. Martin, patron saint of the poor, children will meet to sing German lantern festival songs and then tour the Alpenclub with their lanterns followed by Bavarian-style pretzels and dancing.
