how thoughtful

Do you ever find yourself over-talking, over-analyzing and rationalizing to your kids to little effect? And with the more scheduled days of fall arriving you need your kids to listen and keep moving throughout their daily routines. But sometimes less is more when trying to encourage your child’s cooperation, and Thought Spots make less more fun.
Thought Spots are messages, concepts or thoughts that can smoothed onto surfaces such as mirrors and windows as little reminders for the little (and big) people in your life. They’re also reusable. So if you find your thoughtful reminder to ‘wipe & flush’ being ignored, just move it to a more eye-catching and flush-inducing spot.
Okay, your tiny tot may not be able to read yet, but all you’ve got to do is read their spot to them once for them to get the message. Our favourite set of spots for tots is the Little Reminders thought pack which addresses everything from the aforementioned tooth brushing and toilet flushing to hand washing, sharing, tidying up and putting on sunscreen. All those little issues you remind them about daily. And the spots work especially well when paired with their You Are My. . . pack. As in ‘you are my sweet pea’ and ‘you are my little monkey’.
You can tell by their New Mom and Positive Parenting packs that they’re created by a mum (and they’re Canadian too). We like that both packs offer helpful reminders without being annoyingly chipper. Our favourite? ‘remember this too will pass’. They offer heaps of other packs designed to inspire and motivate and why not use the ‘you are my superhero’ spot to make your partner’s day.
And we’re pretty sure that not even a Thought Spot would get our kids to ‘try a new food today’, but hey, we’re willing to give it a try.
