September Contest: Birthing Buddies

Filed Under Contests, Pregnancy and Birthing | August 27, 2009

Our September contest is from Birthing Buddies and you could win $100 towards any of the fabulous services they offer to enhance the birthing experience.

Birthing Buddies has been helping metro Vancouver mamas give birth since 2003. Owned and operated by local doula and mama, Jenny Taylor (and her awesome husband), they’re committed to providing women with services that enhance the birth experience. They offer TENS units, a wonderful, natural pain relief option and Aquadoula’s Birth Pools. And starting this November they’ll be offering their great private prenatal classes again.

So how can you win this bound-to-be-handy gift certificate?  Start by emailing info@birthingbuddies.com and tell them three things you know to be true about birth. You can also leave your comments on what you’re looking forward to most (and least) about giving birth on the yoyobelly site.

It’s easy to comment on any of our articles, but you do it on yoyobelly.ca not in our daily emails. All you need to do is add your comment at the bottom of the contest after the share and enjoy buttons. Please note: To be eligible for this contest you must use valid email address as that is how we’ll contact the winner.

    1. Birthing is a miracle.
    2. Always bring a buddy to your birthing.
    3. Look forward to meeting your bundle of joy (or joys, in our case. We’re having twins!)

Looking forward to most? Definitely getting through to the other side and getting to meet this new person. Least? Trying to get to a hospital during the Olympic insanity ;)

I’m glad I’m a woman to be able to go through this amazing experience.
1.Birth is a life changing experience. It’s a start of a new life for the baby and the mother. 2. Birth is something both partners should go through together to form a closer bond with each other and the baby.
    3. Birth is why a mother loves a child the way nobody else does. She goes through what nobody else does for the child.

I’m looking forward to the amazing process of giving birth, watching my baby being born, holding my baby, and breastfeeding. What I’m not looking forward to is, of course, labour pains, and tearing. I hope to have a natural water birth to reduce pain and stress.

What I’m looking forward to most: the experience of my body amazing me with its power and the feeling of being one woman on a long, ancient line of women who have given birth to someone.

What I’m looking forward to least: being pregnant for the next 7 months! (having done this twice before, you tend to lose the goddess feeling)
