where are they now: live for tomorrow

We thought we’d take a moment to look back this week and revisit products and places we’ve previously discovered to see what they’ve been up to since we first covered them.

At the end of last summer we discovered Live for Tomorrow’s local line of laundry products cunningly packaged in reusable glass dairy bottles. And now they’ve expanded their green cleaning oeuvre with dishwashing liquid and dishwasher detergent. And they’ve upgraded their website too.

As well as being aware of the ingredients in their products, Live for Tomorrow believes in supporting community trade, protecting the planet, giving back and thinking through all the aspects of their products, including the environmental impact of production, use and packaging.

We like the refillable, metal bottle the hypoallergenic, biodegradable, chlorine and phosphate-free dishwashing liquid comes in. And we like the contents as well. The  unscented liquid does a great job of cleaning dishes, but we found that we needed to squirt in quite a bit to keep our water bubbly, so we went through it quite quickly.

Their dishwasher detergent is definitely our new must-use. It’s phosphate, enzyme and chlorine-free and it’s as powerful as any other dishwasher detergent we’ve tried – eco-friendly or not. It also never seems to leave any spots or grit, although they do caution that can happen if you use too much. We’re also rather partial to the glass bottles it’s packaged in as well, making it easy to see when your detergent is getting low.

And their blog is full of lots of product safety info.
