slop, slap and slip
Summer may not officially be here, but no one’s told the weather that. So we wanted to share our list of summer must-haves which are all about safety and convenience:
Sunscreen tops our gotta have list. Last year we covered some of the safer brands, and this year we were excited to find that Australian-made Soléo Sunscreen, which gets the highest safety rating from the Environmental Working Group, is now available in Canada. It’s free of chemical UV absorbers, titanium dioxide, synthetic preservatives and parabens and it’s also coral reef friendly. We’ve put it to the test on tots, who aren’t sunscreen fans, and it rubs in easily, has very little scent and is super duper waterproof.
After you’ve sloppped on your sunscreen, be sure to slap on a hat. We’re fond of these sun-safe Kooringal hats, also from Australia. Why are we not surprised that the Aussies excel at sun-safe products? If you prefer to shop closer to home, our tots are proudly sporting local company Milk Factory’s handy new bucket hats which are lightweight, fast drying and breathable with a great wide brim and built in UPF 40 sun protection.
And when they get out of the water – or the sprinkler – why not slip on one of Koeka’s terry robes. These zip up, hooded robes save you from the fun task of trying to hold up a towel for your tot to hide inside while they change. Or worse, you’re trying to juggle changing them while holding up the towel. They multi-task too, our pint-sized testers like to dry off with them post-bath and chose to wear them as bathrobes as well. We recommend buying them a size larger than you think you need so they have a longer shelf life.
We’ve got more must haves for you as well, look for them next Friday. And thanks to Mommy Footprint for bringing Soléo to our attention.
