That’s right, it’s our birthday. Well, actually it was yesterday but we didn’t want to mess with your weekend guide, so we’re celebrating today.
On June 4th, 2007 we sent out our very first article. Since then we’ve sent you more than 500 more emails packed with short hits of info on what to do, where to go and what to buy for your kids.
So we hope you’ll indulge us if we choose to talk about ourselves today. We wanted to remind you that your daily email from us is editorial. We cover things we find that we think you might like too so there’s no pay for play.
Our advertorial is up for sale however, because much as we love yoyomama and yoyobelly they’re more than a labour of love, they’re our bread and butter too. What’s advertorial? The contests, dedicated emails, FYIs and sponsored links you’ll see in your inboxes and beside our daily articles. Our advertisers are a terrific bunch of independent designers, producers and retailers who make fun and fabulous products, and their support – and yours – allows us to keep doing what we love.
It’s been a busy year for us. Thanks to you we won the SavvyMom Mom Entrepreneur of the Year Award for BC and the Territories last fall. And in 2009 we’ve launched yoyobelly for mums on-the-grow and our blog. We’ve been in the news a lot this year too. Of course we’ve faced the trials and tribulations of a shaky economy and small business growing pains too, but we try to think of these as opportunities rather than challenges and sometimes we even succeed.
Most importantly there’d be no yoyo without our subscribers, so thank you for sticking with us, piping up with what you like (and don’t) and spreading the word about us.
