This is the opening weekend for the Farmers Markets at UBC and in Burnaby as well as the enormous Ladner Village Market plus there’s lots of other great, family friendly fun happening all around town.
Pacific Rim Kite Festival
Saturday and Sunday, June 13th & 14th, 10 am – 5 pm, Vanier Park, 1100 Chestnut St, Vancouver
In addition to some truly stunning displays of single, dual and quad line flying – some set to music no less – there is also a Rokkaku kite battle and a children’s kite making workshop. Pair this with a walk over to Granville Island for a whole morning of fun: www.bcka.bc.ca
Once Upon a Huckleberry Bush: In the Night Garden

Family FUSE Weekend

Car Free Vancouver Day

The streets will be closed to cars and hopping with people all around town. Main Street – from 12th to 25th Avenue – will be closed to traffic and open to thousands with more than seven music stages, story-telling, food, crafts and more, while Kits will be holding some fabulous block parties. Serpentine Greenway Stewardship Work Party
