who’s your daddy?

He may say that he doesn’t really want anything for Father’s Day and the kids can just make him a card, but you – and his tots – would like to get him a little something  to show him that you love him, so here are a few ideas for the men in your life:

Bike aficionado daddies will be tickled by these very cool clocks and frames made from recycled bicycles, in fact we’ve been coveting them for over a year now. If you choose a frame don’t forget to fill it with a photo of you and your tots.

If Daddy doesn’t have a six pack why not give him not one, but two? Combine a six pack of Mink Chocolate’s yummy, hand-crafted chocolate bars with a six pack of fancy beers. For bars we’d suggest starting with Ginger or Maryanne? or Certifiably Nutty. For beers you could try Youngs Double Chocolate Stout, Fullers HoneyDew or Howe Sound Devils Elbow India Pale Ale, all of which should be available at your local liquor store.

Daddies with a taste for the finer things in life could luxuriate in a luxurious organic cotton and bamboo bathrobe from Shoo Foo, or you could take him shopping at Vancouver’s brand new Brooks Brothers. And Tiffany & Co has a very fine Engine Tuned Sterling Silver Money Clip handily engraved with “Dad”.

A dad who’s got gadgets and technology on his mind may be coveting an iPhone – if he doesn’t have one already that is – or a Flip HD camcorder, all the better to take lovely videos of your kids with that he can then turn into a movie for you next Mother’s Day.

Treat foodie daddies to a 100 Mile picnic. Let him sleep late while you and the kids hit a Sunday Farmer’s Market to stock up on local goodies, then put it all together and head out to a park or the beach to enjoy. You may want to accessorize your picnic with a (relatively) local bottle of wine and some of Moccia Meat’s yummy charcuterie. Okay, it may not all come from within a 100 miles, but it’s all made locally.

Oops, wireless wires got crossed on Friday and we didn’t include the right link to Soléo Sunscreen. Here’s where you can find it locally: www.lavishandlime.com

And tomorrow we have a wonderful list of books celebrating all things boy that we think would also make great gifties come Sunday.

Need more inspiration? Here are other products we’ve covered with a fatherly theme:
