Dedicated Email: Learn Locally, Think Globally
Filed Under Dedicated Emails | May 28, 2009
When our kids start school we all want them to get the three Rs down pat, but what about their artistic, physical, social and emotional growth? Local International Baccalaureate (IB) World School, Greybrook Academy, focuses on educating the whole child and preparing them for life, wherever it may lead them.
Located just outside of Vancouver in Pitt Meadows, Greybrook Academy runs the full gamut from elementary to middle to secondary school. With a school bus route that runs through Port Moody, Coquitlam and Port Coquitlam, Greybrook is easily accessible to the whole Tri-Cities area, not to mention Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows; and when the Golden Ears Bridge opens in a couple of
weeks, Greybrook will become an option for families in Langley and Surrey as well. They currently offer classes from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 10 with plans to add Grades 11 and 12. Their small, intimate classes ensure that each child is given the support, attention and encouragement they need to reach their full potential. Greybrook is proud to be a safe, joyful place to learn.
And a great school is built around great teachers, right? Which is why Greybrook’s teaching and admin staff come from a varied, international background, bringing the bigger world into the school and helping the students learn both locally and globally. Their goal is to nurture respect and responsibility in today’s children so they
become tomorrow’s strong, respectful global citizens.
Because they’re independent, Greybrook’s able to do things a little differently. They offer full-day Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten programs, daily Spanish and Physical Education for all their students, a balanced calendar, lots of field trips, international travel opportunities, before and after school care and specialist instruction in art, music, library, IT, PE, Spanish and more. And that’s just part of what makes Greybrook special.
